It's not! Great Detectives has told 10 stories over the last 12 years and next year its time for more new mysteries! In 2026 we'll be debuting two new, completely original stories - but still featuring our favourite characters, Johnny Dollar & Candy Matson. Even if you saw a Great Detectives show last year, you've never seen Heist, Camera, Action!
The Great Detectives franchise is a loving tribute to 1950s radio plays and recordings. At the time actors performed for live audiences with script in hand, as the show broadcast via the radio. Our actors hold the scripts as props, but we assure you they are rehearsed professionals.
Yes! While there are some physical components to the show, the stories can be fully enjoyed and completely understood without watching the performers.

The show is family friendly (there is mild sexual innuendo and audio violence), we recommend the show for ages 8+
Not at all, this is a very relaxed performance. There are loud sound effects at times.
Latecomers can only be admitted at a suitable break in the performance, which is at the discretion of front of house staff. We urge all patrons to leave plenty of time to travel to the venue to avoid missing any part of the show.
Please note, no refunds are issued to patrons arriving late.
If searching for tickets to Great Detectives online, you will see a number of re-sale sites advertising tickets, usually at a higher price than the official site. If you attend a performance of Great Detectives with a ticket purchased via an unauthorised re-seller such as Viagogo, eBay, Gumtree, or others, you may be refused entry.
